Murder He Wrote Plotting
Jun. 5th, 2015 07:09 amukase So, as it might seem obvious, Rumlow has killed again, as seen here here. From his end, he did this to investigate the notion that death is not permanent in this place, since he has been told by two people now but unwilling to believe it until he verifies it himself. He, of course, has been bored the last month skulking around the hotel and the network since there was an internal cast call for his head or at least to keep him contained.
Now that he has made a killing public for the entire hotel to see, I figured it was time for a plotting post so that everyone can get involved with the possibility of catching him or killing him, whichever people actually want or what their character would do if encountering him. Some notes on Rumlow himself that may be important to players: he's a professional, highly dangerous, and he basically sets up scenes or hides bodies for a living. He's an excellent actor, military background trained and is a potentially high-ranked member of HYDRA, which is one of the main villainous organizations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If he feels it is to his benefit or amusement, he will kill a character without hesitation. His morality is generally faced towards advancing his cause and survival.
That aside, there are some points about the body and the situation in which he worked that will hopefully lead characters after him if they choose to get involved.

- Coraline screamed at the bottom of the stairs at approximately 10-11 pm. The killing took about 2-5 minutes and the body immediately removed. No evidence at the bottom of the stairs aside from maybe scuffing on the carpet.
- The body was posed in the breakfast area around 4-5 am. He would not be seen doing this, and he picked this time because it was the one least likely to have people moving around.
- From the video post, it would be obvious that she was strangled with some kind of thin rope, and it was a struggle.
- Also from the post, she was strangled by someone much, much stronger than she was as evidence by the fact that her eyes are bloodshot.
- The note was still present at the breakfast table where she was posted and it was hand written and not hurried. It can be assumed it was either pre-written or the person had time afterwards (which is true).
- Someone is free to have seen a guy matching Rumlow's description briefly with what looked like a white sheet tucked into a back pocket before he slipped off to skulk more in the hotel. This sheet was actually a pillow case to blind Coraline.
- Coraline's room key was taken and her room was sifted through but nothing apparent was taken. Those who knew her well or knew what she had in her room well would notice that her candy is missing. Nothing else. The room key was left on the floor just inside of it (and no it wasn't closed).
Anyway, any questions or plotting, let's get it in the comments! I will answer what I can, but responses to that will be slow today as I'm travelling.
a_chipped_cupSadly, I have to say goodbye to the game. I've enjoyed my time here, albeit brief. Unfortunately, life and activity sometimes don't work in our favor. I can't keep up with the game and it's unfair of me to hold onto a character that I'm barely playing or tagging out with.
I've genuinely loved the game, loved its concept and the casts that I got to meet. It's with regret that I go, but I want to sincerely thank everyone for the warm welcome I received.

GENERAL
Well, that was a fun month, wasn't it? Now back to your regularly broadcasted casual psychological torment.
The fireplace is still smoking. Quite gratuitously at this point. Maybe don't sit too close, the logs keep popping. The ballroom door is still thrown wide, with all tables and chairs neatly stacked against the far walls. There's still a pad of paper and a few pens at the front desk, as well as a cup with cold coffee dregs in the bottom that no one can remember being put there, and a stack of envelopes and stamps.
Residents on the fourth floor may notice damp spots on the carpeted hallway outside their doors, almost as if the roof is leaking.
WHAT IS THAT FUCKING SOUND?
A high, tinny whistling will be heard throughout the hotel for the rest of this month. There's seemingly no originating point and no way to stop whatever it is that is making that sound from screeching. Enjoy digging at your ears and having your skin crawl.

Last month we kicked off the series of seven minievents that will span from May to November. The Seven Deadly Sins are often seen in Catholicism to describe the capitol vices that humanity doesn't seem to be able to rid itself of in one form or another. Within the Hotel, this little pocket of humanity won't have much of a choice as to rid themselves of the cardinal sins. See, there's just something in the air (conditioning system) that suddenly makes indulging in these vices all the more appealing.
And for the month of June that sin is Envy, which is categorized as by an insatiable desire, similar to jealousy in that they both feel discontent towards someone else's traits, status, abilities, or rewards. The difference is the envious also desire the entity and covet it. So, someone always seemed better than you? Excell in a field you failed? Just so awesome that you cannot physically stand their exisitence? Did they get something in their luggage or gift baskets that you really, really want even if you wouldn't normally? Well, time to take that for yourself. Effects can be mild (sideyes, snide comments, arguments), moderate (some light fingered theft), or severe (literally trying to steal everything in the hotel that isn't bolted to the ground). The degree of severity is up to player discretion.
Characters will feel particularly strong urges to glut themselves from June 20th - 27th.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Then on June 28th, everyone ought to keep an eye out on their IC inboxes; an important invitation will be on its way.

I've not been here for very long at all, and I'm sorry to be going so soon after arriving, especially with all the great relationships I've made both ic and ooc. But with university and RL stress consuming my life, I just don't have the spoons/mental energy to keep up with a game this large and this fast. It wasn't an easy decision but it's ultimately just too much right now, and so Sam and I are going to have to take our collective leave.
I've really enjoyed playing with you all, and maybe I'll return in the future but for now this is Sam Winchester bidding y'all adieu. I'm still around on AIM (elusiveollie) and you can still PM me on this account if you ever want to chat. I don't mind finishing up any threads if you'd rather not leave them hanging or incomplete on my account, so that's a thing.

cisskabobHello, hotel! I come bearing news of great joy! Zoe had her baby this morning!! IT'S A BOY! \o/ Mother and son are both doing very well, but this means she is now officially on hiatus. Something about having a newborn and a 17-month-old and thinking she needs to take some time to focus on her family and RL instead of RP for a while... Seems reasonable to me!

If you aren't familiar with the canon, the Kingsman are a secret service group based in the UK who are gentlemen spies. Fancy suits, quirky gadgets, the works. Charlie was a candidate to fill an open slot in the team, but eventually failed a task and was sent home. I'm bringing him in just after his final test, and just before the grand olde party. He's a very rich, very posh, very sassy jerk who is ex-military with daddy issues. He can be as charming as he wants, but he's probably judging you a little bit, too. But sure, come have a cuddle, he'll give in eventually. >D I can't wait to tag, and am open to basically anything, just hit me up!
